Ana Pilar Morante Perea,

Abstract
We present the case of a patient who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy after an episode of acute cholangitis, which triggers months later abdominal sepsis. The patient devoleped a large liver abscess by Eikenella corrodens requiring CT guided drainage and antibiotic therapy, with satisfactory outcome. This organism has been associated mostly with infections of the oral cavity and human bites, being smaller the number of liver and intra-abdominal infections. A history of gastrointestinal mucosa manipulation should be considered in the empirical treatment of intra-abdominal abscesses by the increasing number of infections by this organism and its antibiotic sensitivity pattern.
