Federico Soria Gálvez,

Abstract
It is well known that digestive endoscopy is an essential diagnostic and of course therapeutic tool for the management of diseases of the digestive tract. Tens of millions of patients undergo digestive endoscopic procedures every year in Europe. In the United States, more than 50 million endoscopic procedures are performed annually and in both cases these figures are increasing every year. In many cases this is due to new endoscopic techniques that have improved the therapeutic armamentarium in recent years.
